“With a Little Help From You This Dream Can Be Realised” Dreams are like seeds. Both emerge in the darkness.
I have a dream that I wish to share with you.
This dream was born in the backdrop of the bleak scenario of education in Bihar. As is popularly known that quality of education imparted by our educational institutions is generally abysmal and this is true across the board, with few exceptions only. When it comes to girls, they are doubly disadvantaged. Half of the women population in this part have not even seen a school.
Women , Muslim, Dalit, The poor belonging to any caste or religion, are denied access to the written word, doomed forever to rely on received wisdom &unable to realise even a fragment of their true potential.
I share the pain, the longing, the lost hopes of the adolescent girls in rural Katihar, because I grew up among them. It is this denial of opportunity to almost half of our population, that cannot be allowed to continue, especially when so many of us are unhappy with this situation and have the ability to intervene and initiate a change. At my own initiative I have pledged a piece of land for a school that will harbour their hopes and dreams. This is too big a dream fora person with modest means that I am. I am, therefore, on a mission of inviting you to share this dream of
setting up a quality school, and if possible a series of them, to
provide quality and life affirming education to those who are condemned to live a life of darkness and ignorance. Right now, the backbone of my optimism is a small but committed band of friends, who are ready to help. I seek your active involvement and participation in this endeavour, in the hope that together we lay the foundation of a future worthy of our daughters.
A project of this kind requires support of any kind starting from your good wishes to blessings. From a single brick to a full block; one book to building a library; adopting a child to sponsoring a teacher, from one microscope to help build a modern lab, each of your act will go a long way to build a promise of hope for the girls of this nondescript part of North Bihar. What I stand committed to here, is that whatever you give, will go rightfully and honestly into this cherished dream to bring smile to the expectant eyes of the children.Your name will bear the testimony to this noble collective dream leading to generational change for times to come.
